What can we say about Gin? Gin is a drink that has seen an explosion in choice and style over the last few years. It seems to be everyone's favourite spirit and our range of Gin Miniatures has grown to record levels but what exactly is it?

Well, Gin is quite simply neutral spirit (similar to vodka) that is usually Juniper flavoured with other botanicals added to it. Botanicals are typically things that grow such as fruits, herbs and spices. Probably the most well known gin style is 'London Dry' or simply 'London'. Today however, there are dozens of variations and flavours from Ginger & Lime to Hibiscus and everything in between.

A fascinating fact... Gin and Tonic (G&T) was initially created by the British East Indian Army to help fight Malaria in the 1700's. Quinine was found to be useful in treating the disease and was taken with water. However, this was a rather bitter drink and so in the 1800's the Army officers added water, sugar, citrus and gin to the quinine. This made it far more palatable and the humble G&T was born.

We stock roughly 100 different Gin miniatures, most of which are 5cl (50ml) in size. This is the equivalent of a double pub measure. Take a look at the different pages below where we describe some of the more popular Gins, all of which are available to order in miniature.
