Rum is an alcoholic beverage that is typically made from by-products of sugarcane such as molasses and sugarcane juice by a process of fermentation and distillation. The distillate which starts off as a clear liquid, will then usually be aged in oak barrels.
The majority of rum is produced in and around a number of Carribean islands.
Rum is available in several styles including light, golden, aged and spiced.
