Mary & Darren's Wedding Story

Just Miniatures supplied the wedding favours for both the men and ladies at the wedding of Mary & Darren. Here, they tell their wedding story:

Ever since we first discussed the idea of getting married we wanted it to be a memorable occasion, not just for us, but for our guests. With this in mind venue was very important. Coming from an Irish background and living in London, a place that offered the best of both worlds was Scotland and it was within easy reach for everyone.

Mary and I were married on the banks of Loch Lomond, in a small town called Balloch. The day started very nervously, especially for the bride, with torrential rain and wind but lady luck was on our side and one hour before the ceremony the sun broke through the clouds creating a lovely blue sky.

The ceremony went to plan and afterwards we made our way to the reception, taking place in the Lodge on Loch Lomond. A beautiful hotel looking out onto the Loch. The views and weather were perfect.

Once everybody was seated they were very pleased and surprised to see the 'different' and 'original' wedding favours we had organised. Personalised bottles of Scotch Whisky, being very appropriate for our location, and Personalised Brandy miniatures too. Most people still have these on display as souvenirs of the occasion although some could not resist the temptation of indulging.

Our honeymoon involved a fantastic trip beginning in Cape Town for a few days and then spending a couple of weeks in Mauritius. Both were wonderful places to visit and I would recommend both for any future planners out there.

We're approaching our 1st year anniversary and as you would hope are both extremely happy. Moving house has been the biggest challenge we have faced but it's been an exciting one that's now complete. Additional bedrooms now presents us with a different challenge.

If we were to recommend anything to anyone considering getting married it would be to make sure you enjoy your day. Too many people worry about others, yet everybody is there for you.

Mary & Darren chose label design 15 from our Personalised Blended Whisky Wedding Favours section and our Personalised Brandy Wedding Favours section. This design worked for the couple as the photo captured the Loch Lomond location perfectly.
