The Glenlivet 12yr old single malt whisky is bright and lively gold in colour, with an exquisite delicacy of summer-like fragrances on the nose.
These include both floral and fruity aromas. Fresh juicy grapes, ripe pears and soft apples. And a sensuous touch of exotic fruits which include candied pineapple, white lilac and honeyed blossom. Once in the glass this whisky will open in time to more creamier and richer notes of stewed greengages, ripe apricots, vanilla crème anglaise, a hint of marshmallow.
American oak ever so slightly enhances that enticing bouquet with even more vanilla notes and nutty hints. An echo of toasted oats. Soft spices. Green cardamom and a touch of caraway seeds.
When you taste this superb whisky you will find that subtle fruity sweetness and oaky tones are also brought forward with tang of a rich cherry plum flan.
